19 Feb- Seattle Day 2 Snowwwwww

Woke up to a sunny day.
Huge relief cos previous weather forecasts had been predicting rain/snow.
Which would have been plain miserable.
Anw, it should be quite obvious by now that we are always heading off to scenic places.
Therefore, ur trip wouldnt be complete if it didnt include some National Park visit.
Drove to Olympic National Park.
To get there, we had to board a ferry.
By we, i meant humans+car.

Poor photo taking skills.
But anw, so we had to drive onto the ferry with many many other cars.
Makes me wonder how a ferry can carry so much weight without sinking.

During the ride, we could alight and walk around.
Seattle itself is already very windy.
So imagine being on a fast-moving ferry, the winds were really scary.

See the empty benches, nobody is crazy enough to sit in the open.
Literally freeze to death.
It was so cold that I couldnt bring myself to take too much photos. Frozen fingers.
So then after the ferry, more driving, as we approached Olympic, we started to see signs of snow
And my first thought was, uh-oh, snow again.
Totally not dressed for snow.
No gloves, no scarf, and sneakers.
Thankfully, the feeling of dread slowly dissipated.
As much as I hate snow, the snow-covered pines trees are just too pretty.

Like Christmas all over again,
There was much heavier snowfall here as compared to the previous time.
When we alighted from the car, it was just plain white.

Couldnt see into the distance at all.
The snow here was much thicker and cleaner too.

Bare hands holding snow.
Looks harmless enough.
And it was.
But once you drop the snow, the cold hits you.
It genuinely felt like my fingers were gonna fall off.
No feeling at all, even when I kept rubbing my hands together, still numb.
Had to sit on my hands and keep wriggling my fingers.
Please do not try this at home.
2 seconds of shiokness, for 5 minutes of piercing pain.

Thats real screaming there.
I kinda admire myself for surviving the snow shit without gloves.
That day, it was around -10 degrees.

Thick snow that went up to my knees.
Kinda hard to walk around in that.

Basically we just kept stopping the car, running down to take photos till our fingers went numb, running back to the car to scream about our fingers/ears/toes falling off, warming up the body, then stopping the car, running down to..... and so on and you get the picture.
As we descended the mountain, things started getting greener.

Pine tree without snow is just a normal pine tree.
Random lake on the way down.

Reminds me of Death Valley.
At night, we headed over to the Space Needle.

A really tall observation tower cum tourist trap attraction
View from the top.

My camera sucks lah, cannot capture the scene properly.
What matters is that its etched in my memory.
They had this really big TV screen and joystick.
You could use the joystick to control cameras that were outside the building, zooming in and out.
From wayyyy above, you could zoom in to see people walking on the streets, and not just ant-sized people, but normal TV-sized people.
Thats how awesome and clear the zoom was.
HOWEVER, there was a limit to the zoom.
We wanted to zoom into people's houses, do some spying, but alas, couldnt zoom that far.
What a shame.
Cool souvenir from the souvenir store lol.

We went to WALL STREET.

Of Seattle.
Its just a street named Wall.
